Each athletic activity calls for an appropriate uniform or dress code in order to properly learn and execute fully the exercises associated with the activity. The same is true for dance as an athletic and artistic discipline.
First Steps/Kidance
Hair pulled away from the face and tied back securely. Hair in a bun is preferred! Pink tights and solid color leotard. Optional chiffon skirt no longer than knee length and warm-up sweater. Pink ballet shoes, leather preferred, with elastic. Black tap shoes & replace ties with black elastic for easy shoe change. Tights must always be worn.
Ballet, Therabarre & Pointe
Hair must be pulled back into a bun at the back of the head. Pink tights, black leotard. Optional chiffon skirt no longer than knee length. Pink ballet slippers with pink elastic. Baggy shirts , booty shorts and midriff tops are not acceptable. Pointe shoes must be approved by instructor for proper fit.
Tap
Hair pulled away from the face and tied back securely. Leotard and tights, any color. Jazz pants. Black, low-heeled tap oxfords or mary jane’s with taps screwed, not nailed, to soles. Cotton socks or tights will prevent blisters on feet. School or play clothing is not acceptable.
Jazz, Lyrical, Leaps, Turns & Progressions
Hair pulled away from face and tied back. Long bangs must be pinned back. Leotard or modest midriff top. Tights, bike shorts or jazz pants. Black or tan jazz shoes – leather, soft soled, preferably the split sole with rubber grips. Bare feet for warm up. Baggy shirts are not acceptable. Regular street wear shorts are not acceptable.
Hip Hop
Hair pulled away from face. Comfortable active wear or jazz wear with clean, non-marking tennis shoes or jazz sneakers. Booty shorts are not acceptable. Bring knee pads for floor work.
Swing Kids & Ballroom
Active wear, swing skirt, smooth soled shoes. Hair away from face
Modern & Yoga/Pilates
Same as Jazz and Lyrical with bare feet. Optional half soles or dance paws for turns. Bring a Yoga mat.
Acting, Voice & Art Fusion
Active wear clothing and tennis shoes
