Cathy Lozano, Owner/ Artistic Director
Cathy’s teaching experience spans over 30 years. She has served as an instructor at California State University Fullerton and the Orange County High School for the Arts as well as at private studios in Los Angeles and Orange counties.
Cathy has studied with such noted teachers as Joe Tremaine, Hama, Gus Giordano, Savion Glover, Dianne Walker and Linda Sohl-Ellison. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater from California State University Fullerton and is a graduate of the American Tap Dance Institute in Washington, D.C.
Cathy has appeared in stage shows and television specials for The Walt Disney Company including The Magic of Christmas,The Golden Horseshoe Revue and Disneyland’s 30th Birthday Celebration on NBC. Her Disney career has also taken her to Tokyo Disneyland, where she danced and sang in both English and Japanese. She has created shows and events for charities such as Mercy House, High Hopes and the Variety Club of Hollywood. She has worked with celebrities Clay Aiken, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Hector Elizondo, Art Linkletter, Joe Montana, Paige O’Hara(voice of Belle), Stepanie Block(Elphaba of Wicked,) Jody Benson (voice of Ariel), James Woods, Alan Menken (composer Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin,) Garry Marshall, Robby Benson, and the Muppets.
Cathy was a choreographer and show director for the world premiere of Disney’s Hercules in New York City, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade celebrating A Bug’s Life and the Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment’s European Tour. She has also directed and staged spectacular live shows at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theater in conjunction with several Disney film presentations including Toy Story and 101 Dalmatians, Pirates of the Caribbean and Lilo and Stitch.
Marlene Hall
Received her BA degree in dance from the University of Irvine. She has trained with such prominent East Coast professionals as Honi Coles, Gregory Hines, Valerie Taylor, Ann Reinking, Mercedes Ellington, Chet Walker, Uta Hagen and Gwen Verdon. She also studied uner West Coast professionals Jilliana, Anthony Sellars, Larry Rosenberg, Linda Sohl-Ellison and Karen Shanly. Marlene has over 23 years teaching experience including the inception of two performing arts schools and the creation of TheraBarre Ballet.
Her students have gone on to receive scholarships to the following universities and professional schools: Julliard, Joffrey Ballet, Kirov Ballet, The Rock School, Cal Arts, Kansas City Ballet, AMDA of LA, Chapman University and Radio City Rockettes. During the summer of 2007, she and 5 of her students were honored as the only Americans to perform five classical pieces with a European Symphony throughout Germany and the Czech Republic in historic venues The Mozarteum and Salzburg Cathedral.
Michelle Adams
Michelle is a Graduate of Loyola Marymount University as a Certified Yoga Therapist in addition to her degree in business. She holds certificates from the International Association of Yoga Therapists, Yoga Alliance and Yoga Ed. She has taught in Manhattan Beach where she also trained new yoga teachers. She currently works with public school teachers implementing yoga into their curriculum to promote awareness and self care for themselves as well as for their students. We are delighted to have her teaching Yoga for Kids at Momentum. This is a first in the Yorba Linda area. Michelle’s enthusiasm and nurturing personality make her a wonderful teacher for both kids and adults.
Valerie Cabag
Completed her BA in dance at UC Irvine with an emphasis in dance and video. She was the captain and soloist of the dance team at Arlington High School. She is currently teaching at UC Irvine in the Dance Department.
Amber Haller
A graduate of the OC High School for the Arts Commercial Dance department and is currently studying Interior Design in Los Angeles. She’s taught for 10 years and continues to study dance at the Edge and pursue her professional dance career in LA. Her professional experience includes Jessica Simpson’s video These Boots, the Disney Teacher Awards, Flying Angel in Glory of Christmas, the American Basketball Association Los Angeles Aftershock Shockgirl, OC Museum of Art Hair shows, and Disneyland’s Parade of the Stars. Amber is one of our performing company choreographers and has received top choreography and cash awards for both solos and groups!
Cassie Haller
Valedictorian of her graduating class at the OC High School for the Arts. She has danced at the Fashion Island Tree Lighting, Neutrogena Industrials and Disneyland. She is an award winning choreographer for the Momentum Dance Companies. She currently is a liberal arts major at Rancho Santiago College.
Brittany Hammond
Has been seen singing and dancing in 42nd Street. She has made television appearances on Dance Nation and So You Think You Can Dance. At Orange Coast College, she has performed Rhapsody in Taps repertory pieces under the tutelage of Linda Sohl Ellison. She was a member or Sound FX tap company. Brittany continues to study dance at the Edge and with vocal and acting coaches in LA .
Jamie Kough
Has been teaching for 18 years. Currently she teaches at Chapman University and is a master teacher for the Orange County Performing Arts Center where she instructs teachers as well as students. All her years of studying ballet, music, art and teaching manifested themselves into a program called Arts Fusion. Arts Fusion combines the elements of art, dance, story and music into creative play and production. while focusing on the process of art making. Jamie is also a gallery artist, resident artist at Yorba Linda Friends Church and designer for Humanity Couture.
Crissy Lozano
Has been studying dance for 12 years. She has taken master classes at the American Tap Dance Institute and danced the role of the Lilac Fairy in Sleeping Beauty. She is a member of Esperanza HS Dance Company where she received the Best Student Choreography award. Crissy was also a Hall of Fame all star dancer and currently studies tap at OCC with Linda Sohl-Ellison, director of Rhapsody in Taps.
Christopher Litven
Originally from Canada, Chris is a well rounded dancer who comes to Momentum having performed in Tokyo and also on the cruise line circuit
Pamela Mikkelsen
Recently received her BA in Dance and BS in Biology from UC Riverside where she graduated cum laude! She has been teaching for 9 years, was also captain of the EDHS dance team for 2 years and a Disney Performer for 5 years! . Pamela was part of the Gluck Contemporary Touring ensemble, and is currently a member of the Dance Touring Ensemble. She has received the Top Choreography award at USA nationals. Last year she received a grant from UC Riverside to pursue her research in dance and video. Pamela’s goal is to study dance medicine and to someday open a clinic for dancers.
