Hip Hop
Dea Nguyen is a choreographer and dancer with over 20 years of technical training in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and hip hop. In high school she found a deep love for hip hop dance and trained with some of Southern California’s best dance teams: Future Shock San Diego, Super Galactic Beat Manipulators, Boxcuttahz. In 2008, she joined Choreo Cookies where she trained, contributed choreography and competed for a decade winning 1st place at Body Rock, World of Dance, Vibe, and Prelude Dance Competitions.
Dea has worked with top music artists including Daddy Yankee, Pharrell Williams, Paula Abdul Korean Pop Artists: TXT, B1A4, 2PM, JYP, Troublemaker, and Sunmi. Alongside a team of choreographers, Dea received “Most Hot Choreography Award” at the Premios Juventud Awards Show for their choreography in Daddy Yankee’s music video, “Que Tire Pa’ ‘Lante.” She’s performed with Paula Abdul in her 2017 Total Package Tour in San Diego.
Together with her husband, Kevin Nguyen, Dea has traveled the world through dance and has taught dance classes, judged competitions, and performed in 24 different countries and 80 cities. They’ve toured the United States speaking at Universities, judging and performing with World of Dance and as Master Teachers for Refresh Dance Convention and KAR Dance Convention.
Dea’s goal is to inspire, encourage and positively impact dancers and creatives all over the world through dance.
